Shadow’s Song

what’s new… hummm…

Filed under: random — shadowsong @ 11:03 pm

break’s been awesomely slow and restful =) finally figured out what i’m gonna do next semester… decided to stay at Hood and try for fulltime, tho i may end up dropping to part time (lol, one of the most frustrating things in the world is losing some of your ability to think clearly…) i’m going back to MC next fall, and if i’m still going to school it’ll be either college park or UMBC after that, we’ll see what happens

BUT all that’s boring…

thank you Lord for friends… long nights don’t seem all that long when there’s someone to talk to and keep your thoughts out of the realm of the nonsensical, and when you learn a lot it’s doubly kool

so my family could really use prayer right now… my grandparents (the ones who live with us) are in Italy on vacation… here’s an email i sent to their cg

“Details:
John was out several hours ago at night walking to an ATM. He didn’t come back for 2 1/2 hours so Joyce was trying to get in contact with the police. They finally called her and told her John had been hit by a motorcyclist and was in the hospital with a broken femur. He just got out of surgery. Because they’re in a small town where not many people speak English, communication in the hospital has been difficult. He’s in a lot of pain, and it’s unclear how long he needs to be in the hospital, but Joyce keeps hearing something about 20 days. Thankfully the motorcyclist stayed with him all through the surgery and his insurance will cover this. It looks like John has to personally go to the station to fill out a police report as well.

Please pray:
*For relief from this pain
*That he wouldn’t have to stay long in the hospital
*That God would remove the language barriers
*Peace for Joyce with all her decisions on how best to care for him, where to stay, how to get home, etc
*The Lord’s guidance in navigating the health care system
*Wisdom for the rest of our family here at home as we try to support them
*That the healing process would go smoothly, there are many factors that could cause it to go wrong”

so ya… erk… it was chaos here but i think everyone’s doing pretty well with trusting God. My dad has to fly out there tomorrow so you can pray for him as well (haha my mom was trying to get him to take her also so she could see Italy)

(liz be grateful… that’s what you were saved from several times when you tried to cross with those crazy italians driving ;))

………

  1. I’m definitely praying for your Grandad, and for your whole family. “When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him.” :) God’s promises are SO good.

    Yes. L was awesome.

Tifa (whoever that is) looks like you.

  4. Hey girly,
As you know, I’m praying lots.
“*THE LORD IS AT HAND*; do not be anxious about ANYTHING, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving *let your requests be made known to God.* *And the peace of God, which SURPASSES all understanding, WILL guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.*”

Keep “casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.”

    …..

Josh is right. I was so about to say that that picture of Tsomething looks like you.

haha, I’m so glad I didn’t get hit in Europe… and judging by the speed of those cars that I managed to not see until someone pulled me back onto the sidewalk… I’m pretty sure I would’ve been dead. Or at least “mostly dead.” Here’s to Eli and Josie for saving my life at least 3 times on that trip.

Love you and miss you. :) <3
