YAY!!! sorry this took so long…
::edit:: Let me just say that i’ve never had this much trouble with something in my life. Due to different reasons…including work, 500 pictures to go thru and edit, wordpress deleting my post four times, four!!, wars with certain people last night (haha -”steph is busy. you ARE inturrupting.” -”FINE. h/o a sec. :updating itunes…very busy…” -”wait…what were we fighting about?” -”‘He’s dead.’ ‘ya. we killed him.’ ‘oh well!’” -”Well i blame society…” -”Where were we?’ ‘restarting your life. And cursing in Japanese.’ ‘oooh ya!’”) and sooo many other things…yeah it’s taken forever to get done. Here’s the pictures anyway…with semi-commentary)
ooohhh myyy gooodness. i have way too many pictures. but. here they are :D
California (!)
was wonderful.
my family left me at home (i joined them half-way thru) and flew to Vegas
(no, they didn’t stay there. haha)
We’re not big on cities…so they went to a ghost town nearby
haha. ya’ll have no idea how many pictures i have of amber. this girl loves the camera! (love you kris, don’t kill me)
Then they drove to San Diego. I missed this too!!! erk. so jealous.
love that picture
I flew out to meet them in San Fransisco. YAY!! although… let me just say, if you ever have to be in a wheelchair…do not fly alone. hahaha. It’s not fun. BUT we went here the next day.
Like i said, we’re not big city people. But San Fransisco was SO much fun. I’m not sure i can explain why, but we all loved it.
hahaha erin. i tell her to go look at the parasols and this chinese lady charges across the street yelling: ”NO TOUCH PRODUCTS!!! PUT DOWN!! NOO!” and of course erin being who she is got super embarrased, and I just laughed and snapped a picture
we ate at an amazing resaurant in Chinatown. The food there was sooo good! best chinese i’ve had in my life
she had so much trouble with those things…
[Kristen insisted i post these]
Ghirardelli square’s full of chocolate…everything. My mom went crazy.
the sky was sooo blue that day
soo then we went down by the water to pier 39. It’s funny, all the local people hate pier 39…they think it’s so touristy and shouldn’t be part of the city. But everyone else who goes there loves it
haha. I had to get a picture of what i rode around in the whole trip…my wheelchair [thx guys! you're awesome. it's helped me so much!]
Laura was in heaven. That girl loves her strawberries!! and every other fruit you could possibly think of.
the city from pier 39
The streets were SOO steep!! haha my dad would let go of my wheelchair and then chase me a few feet…it seriously freaked me out so bad :P (and my mom…”JOHN!! …ooh. you got her? wait JOHN!!”)
on the trolley car. haha we tried getting this picture like 17 times. This was the best one… yeah. But my dad really wanted the picture.
…aaand of course…
golden gate bridge
the girls had fun going crazy with my life
the next day we stopped here… relaxing :) maybe my favorite place. Don’t know what it’s called, just some place we saw while driving along the coast
there was all this driftwood
so…then we got to the redwood forest. Kool trees, but it got old. Sorry…i wasn’t super impressed.
stopped the next day at this random bridge by a river.
kris wanted to attempt a photo shoot with me… it didn’t work out too well ;)
haha it was fun tho ”no no move your head to the left! i mean right! wait…it’s too windy… THERE! that’s good…wait…no…hold on…why don’t you…UGH…” “just take the picture kristen!!!”
we visited my great uncle and aunt…bad picture
Then there was Mt. Shasta. We got to the top of the mountain (a real mountain, btw) and kris was like, “what’s that sound?!” Yeah…our tire was completely flat. Sooo dad had to change that instead of go hiking. Stuff like this always happens to us on mountains
Lake Tahoe…
random story… we decided to watch Ocean’s 13 in Tahoe. So we went to find the theatre…and it was in the middle of a casino. Walking out of the movie was the weirdest thing…after watching their whole plan and how they robbed a casino. (haha, the best part about that movie was the mexican strike. SOO funny)
k…Yosemite. This was kool. I sat in the car the whole morning while my family hiked…but i got to sleep! which was act. nice. but they saw this:
they took me in a wheelchair to see the falls, it was hilarious. The path was so steep, i seriously almost died several times. The waterfall was kool
here’s the BEST part about Yosemite. After we left the main park, we went down the mountains toward the next town. While driving we saw this huge meadow with a river and lake, surrounded by mountains…it was one of most beautiful places i’ve ever been. So we randomly stayed there for a few hours.
I sat there forever. These pictures show only a tiny bit of how kool this place was. Especially when the sun was going down.
our last day we drove thru Death Valley. (like…it took us the whole day) It got up to 121 degrees!!! Yeah…and this cliff. ha. it was really high. erin wouldn’t sit with me. or get anywhere near me. and my shoe fell off…
idk if you can tell from the picture but it was scary. and really kool.
SO HOT. no water. hehe
aaand that’s pretty much it! we got to Vegas that night and left the next day. BUT… our flight home was long. ha. we had to get up at 4 in the morning to catch our flight. unfortunately…we miscalculated how long it would take with me in a wheelchair. And so, we missed our flight by 1 minute. literally. SO we had to get another flight… waited around the airport for like 6 hours. Then when we finally got to our layover they said they couldn’t find the pilots. We were like, what in the world?! can’t find the pilots! ha. So we waited another few hours while they flew some in from chicago. they finally got there and we got on the plane…but of course… there was an oxygen leak. so we sat on the plane forever. FINALLY went down the runway, (they never explained why the plane started shaking violently) and got home. Then they couldn’t find everyone’s luggage at the end of the flight so we waited again in baltimore…
until they found it. AAND then we got home. At 3 in the morning ;) That’s it!
